Panting is the normal way that your Bichon Frise sweats and releases heat from their body as they get overheated. Many homes get into the 90s during the summer so it is good to take some precautions for indoor pets. For example, keep lots of cool drinking water out. You can put ice in the water bowl to keep it cooler longer, spray or mist your dog. You can freeze apples and then give it to your Bichon Frise- they sure enjoy playing with it as if it were a ball and then they really like taking bites out of it. You can also give your Bichon ice cream that is specially formulated for dogs! 2 brands of ice cream for dogs that you can find at your local grocery store right in the ice cream section is Frosty Paws and 1st Ice Cream Sandwich. We have given our little Luna the Frosty Paws and she seems to enjoy it, she licks and licks and licks at it – it is dense.  We would love to hear from you, tell us how your Bichon’s enjoy their ice creams??
